From: krgcub@aol.com (KRGCub) Subject: In depth report on Late Night Date: 26 Aug 1994 00:28:02 -0400 Well, I was called by Jay Johnson (talent coordinator) when I was in a tournament in Bellfountain Ohio on June 24 of 1992. I was flown out the next day to appear on the June 25 show with Super Dave Osborne and Lori Petty along with The Jesus and Mary Chain. I was bumped however as they wanted to give me a full segment. So luckily I got on the big Friday show with Tom Hanks. I was picked up by a limo at LaGuardia and driven to th Omni Berkshire Hotel right in downtown Manhattan. I called Mr. Johnson who was only 27 then and I went up to the offices of Late Night. I toured the Rockefeller building (even the places the tours couldn't go) and got pictures of me all over the Saturday Night Live studio. I then was given 450 dollars to buy something to wear on the show and managed to spend almost 370 at The Gap, Bloomingdales, and Sax Fifth Avenue. I was then allowed to sit back stage in street clothes (in the Green Room) and watch the taping of Thursday's show. Super Dave is hilarious!!!! Anyhow, I spent Thursday night touring New york since I'd never been there before. I spent some of Thursday morning with Jay meeting the band and the producer and so forth and then practice my segment with the stage coordinator "Dave". I can't remember his last name though, but he was pretty young too. Taping was a 3:30 and I talked with Tom Hanks for about 10 minutes in the Green Room discussing Indiana mostly due to A League of Their Own being filmed there. I talked to Dave briefly in the hallway before the show. Dave loved me for some reason or another, and plugged me and my segment 8 times on the show before I even came on. He even interupted Tom Hanks to blurt out something like "I can take him I know I can!" I was thrilled to get on the show and I got a personalized autographed picture form him and a couple of T-shirts and hats. I flew out that afternoon and was able to see the actual show with about 30 of my friends back in Muncie. This is just a very sketchy version, now if you want to know anything more, just ask... Anyone remember the show. I was tall (6'3) blonde hair and cracked a couple of jokes along the way. Anyhow, ask away, I can tell ya anything about the show you want to know. Kris
